Victorian roots of modern business

Briarwood Products are very proud to have been involved in supporting the specification for over 8,000m2 of EUROSIX Serpentine fully compressed fibre cement roof sheets, now covering the new Wigton livestock market, after nearly 5 years of planning and construction discussions finally resulted in this multi million pound agricultural complex being completed in Cumbria.

Wigton market has a history of livestock sales going back as far as 1880 with its first stock sale recorded as 334 sheep and 51 head of cattle. Now the average sales entry is 791 Prime Sheep including Ewes and 164 Cattle including 23 Bulls. The new facility relocated from Wigton town centre to the edge of Wigton town includes over 5,000m2 of new office space, a restaurant, function room seating 150 people, two sales rings and 220 pens, ample car parking and even more ground available for future expansion if required.
